Tea Time with Lindz: Galen Howard

Galen Howard joins Tea Time with Lindz: A Podcast About Creatives for another fun episode. Listen to how Galen navigated his way early on in Hollywood and how knowing his branding type very early on helped him in this navigation.

Galen is a character actor with a reputation for playing offbeat, strangely likable humans with a dark underbelly. He started acting in Northern California before relocating to Los Angeles in 2010. In his studies, he interned at Timothy Busfield's B Street Theater, and trained with celebrated acting teacher Ivana Chubbuck. Over his career he has amassed a varied rogues' gallery of characters, from offbeat criminals to eccentric man-children.

Galen has acted across all mediums, from film and television to commercial and web content. He has had memorable roles in the indie film world, including an emotionally stunted cult member in the Lionsgate release Children of Sorrow, and an evangelical kidnapper in American Nightmares from iconic director Rusty Cundieff (Fear of a Black Hat, Tales From the Hood). His television appearances include The Middle, Brooklyn Nine-Nine and Agents of SHIELD. He recently played a bumbling elephant poacher opposite Tom Arnold in Saving Flora, and a childlike parishioner opposite Richard Riehle in Moon Manor.

Galen first gained attention for his sketch characters on the groundbreaking YouTube channel Smosh, and has since worked with other prominent web entities like Buzzfeed, Rooster Teeth, New Form and FacebookTV. He later became known for his idiosyncratic appearances in countless music videos for artists including Weezer, Elle King, Lil' Dicky, Galantis, Smashing Pumpkins and many others. He worked with director Mark Romanek (One Hour Photo, Never Let Me Go) on Justin Timberlake's smash hit "Can't Stop the Feeling," which has amassed over one billion YouTube views. He recently starred in the retrofuture inspired video for "Energy" from electronic duo Disclosure.

Tea Time with Lindz: Jamison Haase

Jamison Haase has had a steady career since moving to Los Angeles twenty one years ago. Not only is Jamison a working actor (even though he will dispute this) but he is also an acting coach at L.A On Camera Training Center.

You can catch Jamison on television shows such as, The Last Ship, Colony, American Crime Story, NCIS: Los Angeles, Melissa and Joey to name but a few.

L.A. On-Camera Training Center was founded by Haase in 2007 with the intention of training Los Angeles based actors in on-camera and audition techniques. In today’s Industry, the camera has become the most important tool in the casting process. Writers, directors, and producers often times do not have the time or ability to come and meet you face-to-face, which means that your performance on-camera is crucial in determining whether or not you get the job.

Due to Covid-19 L.A On Camera have taken their courses online so it does not matter where you are in the world, you can jump onboard and take one of their courses, which I would highly recommend.

Listen to hear what Jamison keeps in his set bag, who coaches Jamison when he has an audition and his advice to actors out there how are still trying to break into the industry.

You can follow Jamison on Twitter and Instagram @JamisonHasse
